Job summary

Astrion in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Engineering Technician II to install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation on aerial and ground platforms. You will support the LOCAITS lead engineer in design, installation, production, and deployment and participate in test events at local and TDY locations.

The role requires three years of related experience or equivalent training, with electronics/instrumentation emphasis.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and one (1) year of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
• Instrumentation - Must have sixteen (16) weeks of civilian or military training in electronics or basic instrumentation techniques and at least one (1) of the three (3) years of experience must be in electronics/instrumentation supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Exceptional customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and maintain LOCAITS instrumentation.
• Support the LOCAITS lead engineer in the design, installation, production, and deployment of LOCAITS GPS/IMU kits on various aerial and ground vehicles platforms.
• Support both local and TDY test events involving LOCAITS data collection on integrated aviation/weapons systems.
• Install and operate range equipment (camera's, intercom, video monitors, fiber, and ethernet cables). #CJ
