Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2/3 for 2nd or 3rd shift to join our team in Rocket Center, WV. The role involves operating analytical instrumentation, performing quality control methods, and supporting plant personnel on diverse tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma and 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in tight spaces.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Willingness to provide weekend coverage.
• Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance as needed, for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Operates analytical instrumentation.
• Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, or engineering evaluation.
• Provides technical support to plant personnel on a variety of tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Follows engineering documentation requirements including specifications and drawings.
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
• Performs quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
• Disposes of raw materials per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicates well across multiple disciplines.
• Monitors gauge, instrument, and equipment calibrations.
• Ensures calibration cycles are not exceeded.
• Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions.
• Able to work overtime as required.
