Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. in Wisconsin seeks an Engineering Technician I to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on current and new product designs under close supervision. You will contribute to continuous improvement to reduce defects and ensure test requirements are met.

Shift is Friday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will set up test equipment, run tests on prototypes, document measurements, assist with BOM and fabrication, support manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 3 months of relevant work experience.
• Ability to setup and run tests on prototypes and products.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, environmental test methods.
• Maintain test documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations
• Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices
• Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements
• Assists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications
• Follow guidelines for bill of materials
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities
• Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment
• Prepare formal and informal test reports
• Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs
