Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Engineering Technician to support PennDOT construction inspections, measurements, and project documentation. The role focuses on ensuring quality work on transportation projects and providing accurate data and reports to project staff.

You will work under a schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential telework options and an initial starting salary of $41,506.00 for new hires, plus benefits where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or engineering technology.
• Applicants may be within 3 months of graduating to meet educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction materials and workmanship for standards compliance.
• Create detailed checklists from contracts, manuals and standards.
• Record project information and enter daily data into required systems.
• Perform measurements, estimates, sketches, and calculations to support accuracy.
• Observe material placement of concrete, bituminous mixtures, and drainage components.
• Coordinate with staff, agencies, legislators and the public.
