Job summary

Qualifications

• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Rotational Learning: Participate in scheduled work rotations to gain familiarity with district personnel, procedures, and projects.
• Technical Support: Assist units across the agency with basic engineering tasks while learning departmental policies and workflows.
• Drafting Tasks: Prepare bridge and structural drawings using design tools with guidance from experienced staff.
• Plan Development: Produce drafting and detailing work for final bridge and structural plans from sketches, surveys, and existing documents.
• Field Activities: Join field inspections of bridges and record notes and sketches with direction from professional staff.
• Math Applications: Apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to compute quantities and support structural drafting.
