Engineering Technician/Auxiliary Operator
About the Role

Location: United States of America

A Snapshot of Your Day: As an Engineering Technician, your day will consist of a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, monitoring the power generation equipment, running chemistry samples, performing preventative maintenance, and isolating/deisolating equipment for Lockout/Tagout purposes. You will be the physical presence in the plant to recognize, analyze, and diagnose the condition of the operating equipment. Your experience and training are key to maintaining the reliability and availability of the plant for the customer and the electrical grid.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Under Shift Lead direction, control plant processes and electrical distribution through local operation of equipment.
  • Conduct regular rounds of all generation and auxiliary equipment.
  • Obtain and analyze various plant chemistry samples to maintain plant water quality and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, identify operational problems, troubleshoot, make repairs, and maintain equipment as required to support operation of the power plant.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System to assist in performing preventive maintenance, inventory control, work orders, etc.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain power generation systems to ensure availability and reliability of the plant for the electrical system.

What You Bring:

  • An associate degree in Power Plant Technology and a High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years of experience operating and maintaining power plant equipment.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing plant instrumentation, computers, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control equipment.
