Job summary

Aptiv Interconnect in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering functions within the MRP system, serving as the hands-on bridge between engineering and floor execution. You will execute experimental trials, prototype builds, and machine/tooling setups to sustain continuous production flow and rapid troubleshooting.

Candidates should have an associate degree in engineering technology or related field (or equivalent experience) and 2–4 years hands-on manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Prototype & Experimental Builds: Execute experimental trials, construct prototypes, and gather baseline metrics with engineering staff to evaluate feasibility.
• Machinery Setup & Maintenance: Perform tooling setups, equipment changeovers, and minor mechanical adjustments to ensure continuous production flow.
• Real-Time Technical Troubleshooting: Evaluate process inefficiencies, resolve live equipment issues on the shop floor to minimize delays.
• Process Optimization Projects: Collaborate with process engineers and production staff to implement corrective actions and improve manufacturability.

We are seeking a Detail oriented Engineering data Administrator to support engineering functions within the MRP system. This role serves as the hands-on bridge between engineering and floor execution by supporting process engineers with routine hands-on tasks, real-time troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects. By executing physical setups, running experimental trials, and diagnosing process inefficiencies, you free engineers to focus on high-level optimization strategies.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities

Operational Assembly & Floor Execution

• Prototype & Experimental Builds: Execute experimental trials, construct prototypes, and gather baseline metrics in collaboration with engineering staff to evaluate operational feasibility.
• Machinery Setup & Maintenance: Perform physical tooling setups, equipment changeovers, and minor mechanical adjustments to ensure continuous production flow.

Root Cause Diagnostics & Continuous Improvement

• Real-Time Technical Troubleshooting: Evaluate process inefficiencies, resolve component fit issues, and rectify live equipment disruptions on the shop floor to minimize operational delays.
• Process Optimization Projects: Partner with process engineers and production staff to implement practical corrective actions, eliminate waste, and enhance manufacturability.

Education & Technical Qualifications

• Education & Academic Background: Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline, with 2 years hands on experience.
• Equivalent Experience: 4+ years demonstrating hands-on proficiency in hands manufacturing environment

Certifications & Competencies

• Systems Proficiency: Google suite, Microsoft office
• Practical Mechanical Competency: hands-on experience in equipment setup and real-time mechanical component troubleshooting within live manufacturing environments.
• Root Cause Diagnostics: capability to evaluate process inefficiencies, gather floor data, and deliver clear technical recommendations to engineering staff.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to translate operational feedback between floor technicians and process engineers for seamless execution.
• Quality & Compliance Standards: Strict adherence to standard operating procedures, ISO requirements, and safety protocols to ensure continuous quality output.
