Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in New Jersey seeks a Technical Writer (Engineering) to develop, organize, and maintain clear technical documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders. You will translate complex information into procedures, manuals, and specifications, collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management.

The role supports validation, controlled release, and revision activities, with opportunity to influence documentation standards and workflows. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 5+ years of technical writing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, blueprints, operation sheets, wiring diagrams, and written instructions.
• Translate complex information into simple, user-friendly content.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients and subject‑matter experts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from subject‑matter experts and develop clear procedures, manuals, and technical specifications.
• Translate complex engineering information into organized, user-friendly content.
• Develop and maintain templates and documentation standards for consistency.
• Review documents for completeness, formatting, readability, and compliance with requirements.
• Support document validation, verification, and controlled release activities.
• Coordinate with owners and reviewers to incorporate comments and meet delivery dates.
• Assist with revision tracking, archiving, and change packages.
