Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in New Jersey seeks a Technical Writer (Engineering) to develop and maintain clear, user-focused documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders. You will translate complex information into manuals, specifications, and work instructions while ensuring revision control and audit readiness.

CVs require 5+ years of technical writing experience, ability to read drawings and schematics, and proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of experience writing technical documents preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, blueprints, operation sheets, wiring diagrams, and written instructions.
• Ability to translate complex information into simple, user-friendly content.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients and technical subject-matter experts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
• Excellent typing, written, grammatical, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Competency with SharePoint or similar collaboration, file-management, document-management, or version-control systems.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop clear procedures and manuals.
• Translate complex engineering and manufacturing information into organized content.
• Develop and maintain templates and documentation standards.
• Review technical documents for completeness and formatting.
• Support document validation, verification, and controlled release.
• Coordinate with owners and reviewers to meet delivery dates.
• Assist with document revision tracking and archiving.
• Maintain configuration records and audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain project files in SharePoint or similar systems.
• Manage multiple writing projects with attention to detail.
• Recommend improvements to documentation workflows.
