Job summary

CAE Inc. is seeking an Associate Technical Writer in Binghamton, NY to transform complex engineering concepts into clear, professional documentation supporting world-class training systems.

You'll write, edit, and proofread, translate technical concepts into accessible text and visuals, and ensure DoD and industry style standards are applied. This role requires a BA/related field, strong writing and layout skills, DoD clearance eligibility, and flexibility for overtime, travel within CONUS, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and page-layout skills with sharp attention to detail.
• Experience with publishing or multimedia tools is a plus.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship is required.
• Willingness to support overtime, shift work, weekends, and CONUS travel.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and proofread clear, accurate technical documentation.
• Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand text and visuals.
• Apply DoD and industry style standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Use publishing tools to create and update materials.
• Organize content, manage document structures, and support configuration-management workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers, authors, and QA to verify accuracy and meet deadlines.
