Job summary

Qualifications
- Education: completed algebra, geometry, or trigonometry coursework.
- Option 1: 1 year of civil engineering work experience applying formulas and practices.
- Option 2: 1 year road construction work with sign making and basic calculations.
- Substitutions: 15 units of civil engineering coursework may substitute for 6 months experience; EIT may substitute too.
Responsibilities
- Assist in title and property ownership research and draft legal descriptions.
- Perform field or lab material sampling and tests.
- Measure distances and bearings; inspect traffic control devices; collect traffic data.
- Draft plans, cross sections, cost estimates; assist field investigations and exhibits.
- Compute earthwork quantities and assist in contract provisions.
