Job summary

Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo in Florida is seeking a Trades I – HVAC Technician to support resort operations by performing HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance, work orders, and assisting with engineering projects across the property.

Ideal candidates have foundational HVAC experience, the ability to read technical manuals, and a commitment to safety, guest satisfaction, and reliable service. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and weekend/holiday availability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on HVAC/maintenance experience.
  • Technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and maintenance docs.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Complete daily work orders and support other Engineering trades.
  • Read and interpret manuals, specs and O&M docs.

Job Description

As a Trades I – HVAC Technician, you will support resort operations by performing HVAC maintenance, preventive maintenance, work orders, and assisting with engineering projects throughout the resort. This role is ideal for someone with foundational HVAC experience who is looking to grow their technical skills while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, and guest-ready environment.

What You'll Do as a Trades I – HVAC Technician:
  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort leadership.
  • Complete daily HVAC work orders while supporting other Engineering trades as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on split systems, PTAC units, air handlers, and condensers to ensure proper system performance.
  • Assist with the installation and replacement of HVAC components, including condensers, thermostats, fan motors, and other minor system components.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, and operating & maintenance (O&M) documentation.
  • Assist with procurement and inventory activities to ensure materials, parts, and tools are available for scheduled work.
  • Utilize HotSOS and other maintenance management systems to document work orders and completed repairs.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, Team Members, and leadership while providing excellent customer service.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks as assigned to support resort operations.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards while following all company safety procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Engineering operations.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring as a Trades I – HVAC Technician:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in HVAC, engineering, maintenance, or skilled trades within a resort, hotel, commercial, or similar environment.
  • Technical training or HVAC certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, preventive maintenance, and component replacement.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and in confined spaces.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.
