Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Engineering Technical Associate to support the W87-1 Modification Program within Strategic Deterrence. The selected candidate will contribute to new and ongoing experiments at LLNL’s Livermore Site, the National Ignition Facility (NIF), Site 300, and other NWE locations.

Primary work occurs in the B391 MRE Lab and B341 Survivability Lab, with independent problem-solving and potential technical lead responsibilities.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for DOE Q-level clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology and/or electro-optics technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience making independent decisions on complex technical problems
• Extensive electro-mechanical design, fabrication and system setup experience
• Experience leading teams in fabrication and assembly of complex systems
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and travel to NWE sites as needed

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on experimental needs and test systems
• Design, fabricate, assemble, upgrade, and retrofit electro-mechanical components
• Provide advanced technical support to staff while planning experiments
• Apply materials and manufacturing knowledge to solve problems
• Develop test, troubleshooting, and operational procedures with documentation
• Present data and test results and offer solutions
