Job summary

The Eaton Engineering Systems and Continuous Improvement Co-op is a structured, three-term assignment designed to provide an engineering student with progressive experience in systems support, design automation, and continuous improvement.

The program rotates through engineering systems, product line improvement, and a capstone project, with the aim of developing talent and delivering measurable productivity gains.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Completion of foundational university coursework appropriate to the student's degree program.
• Ability to complete the full three-term co-op assignment (Spring, Summer, Fall).
• No immigration sponsorship available (CPT/OPT/STEM OPT etc.).
• Ability to work at the assigned location for the duration of the program.
• Ability to travel to other facilities if required.
• Minimum GPA 2.8 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering systems, tickets, user feedback, and performance data to identify trends and automation opportunities.
• Support administration, testing, validation, and documentation of front end engineering systems and design automation tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, systems, IT, manufacturing, and product line stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions.
• Document current-state workflows, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend actions to improve productivity and quality.
• Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, dashboards, and technical documentation.
• Support automation and digital transformation projects through data analysis and testing.
• Manage projects and milestones, track progress, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Develop and execute an end-to-end capstone project delivering measurable improvements.
