Job summary

County of Kaua'i is seeking an Engineering Support Technician III to perform complex technical work in support of professional engineering activities. You may supervise a small team of lower level technicians and engineering aides while contributing to project studies and environmental compliance.

The role requires education/experience equivalence to a high school diploma with four years of specialized work experience, plus a valid Hawaii driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation plus four years of specialized work experience.
• Experience in engineering-oriented support functions such as inspection, testing, drafting, surveying, and construction is preferred.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform complex sub-professional, technical work in support of professional engineering activities.
• Review and analyze water service connections and facility clearance forms.
• Operate CAD/CAM systems or provide IT support for engineering operations.
• May supervise lower level technicians and engineering aides.
