Under general supervision, performs a variety of complex sub-professional, technical work in general support of professional engineering activities; may supervise and participate in the activities of a small group of lower level technicians and engineering aids; and performs other related duties as required.

Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and four (4) years of specialized work experience
Qualifying Specialized Work Experience: Work experience in one or a combination of the engineering-oriented support functions such as inspection, testing, designing, surveying, drafting, and construction, which required the knowledge of engineering terminology and the ability to use mathematical skills in the solution of engineering-support or engineering problems.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent).

I’ve submitted my application, what happens next? For civil service positions, applicants will be evaluated based on the content of their applications and depending on the position, may require additional assessments such as a written examination, performance examination or evidence of a valid driver’s license before being placed on an eligible list for that class of work.
