Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist I to join the Process Engineering team in Manufacturing Operations in West Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves basic testing, services, or troubleshooting of SEL products under guidance from experienced staff.

You will collaborate with team members, document activities, and contribute to process improvements while learning SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of familiarity with Manufacturing and Engineering.
• Able to efficiently operate Windows and MS Office tools.
• Strong written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• Interested in learning new technologies and taking on new responsibilities.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete basic testing, services, or troubleshooting of SEL products and processes under supervision.
• Provide status updates to SEL staff and customers.
• Communicate effectively with team, partners, and customers.
• Follow department processes and suggest improvements to docs or work instructions.
• Participate in collaborative improvement efforts.
• Develop basic proficiency in activities to support one of the Operation Team's disciplines or R&D disciplines.
• Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
