Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in Pullman, WA, is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist I for the Manufacturing Automation team on the swing shift.

You will perform basic testing, services, or troubleshooting under supervision to support SEL products and processes. A typical day includes providing status updates, collaborating with team and customers, following procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement through root-cause investigations and instrumentation support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ familiarity with Manufacturing and Engineering.
• Proficient in Windows and MS Office.
• Strong written, verbal, and documentation skills.
• Interested in learning new technologies and responsibilities.
• Team-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

• Providing status updates to SEL staff and customers.
• Communicating effectively with team and internal partners and customers.
• Following department processes while communicating opportunities for improvement to documentation or work instructions.
• Representing your team by participating in collaborative improvement efforts.
• Developing basic proficiency in the activities required to support one of the Operation Team’s disciplines.
• Supporting robotic systems and automated stations.
• Assisting with root cause investigations of automation-related failures.
• Supporting implementation of continuous improvement projects.
• Learning and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
