Job summary

Duke Energy seeks an Engineering Specialist Assistant to support designers in planning and execution of engineering and construction projects. You will enter project data, apply standard designs, and prepare work orders to ensure safe, reliable operation and cost control.

You will assist with customer communications, scheduling, and reports from the work management system, while contributing to storm readiness and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate Degree in a technical field or at least two years of customer support experience.
• Demonstrated excellent customer skills and effective written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to use work management systems.

Responsibilities

• Creates low complexity designs.
• Enters projects into the work management system using various notes and templates.
• Applies standard designs to low-complexity maintenance work and routine programs.
• Assists Designers with work order preparations for overhead/underground work and major projects.
• Verifies dependencies in the work management system before releasing jobs.
