Job summary

Arlington County’s Department of Environmental Services seeks an Engineering Support Associate to join a team providing multi-skilled engineering support for Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer and Street infrastructure. On-site at Arlington County facilities, the role involves handling maintenance requests, citizen interactions, and coordination with trades managers.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with related experience; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to one year.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED; substitution with a Bachelor's degree may apply.
• Some experience in construction management, lab testing, customer service in a trades environment, or automated records management.

Responsibilities

• Review maintenance requests using QAlert and respond to citizens; collaborate with staff and contractors.
• Research and resolve citizen issues, address concerns, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Create and assign tasks to Trades Manager Leaders using Cartegraph; support emergency operations like snow removal.
• Assist with small construction repair programs and ROW projects; interpret records and maps for engineers.
