Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an IPS Engineering Supervisor for 3rd shift in Groton, CT. The role oversees design completion, maintenance, outfitting, and testing of electric drive and power distribution systems for Columbia-class ships. Training may start on 1st shift with a transition to 3rd shift.

The supervisor will lead a team of engineers, ensure schedule adherence, and collaborate across departments to deliver first-time quality while maintaining EB processes and core values.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of related post-graduate engineering experience.
• At least 2 years leadership in a lead-type or supervisory role.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• M.S. in engineering preferred.
• Graduate of FLG or BLG preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and solve barriers to IPS equipment flow in shipyards.
• Coordinate with Waterfront Engineering and IPS to avoid gaps or overlaps.
• Build and develop a team of engineers that are proactive and results-driven.
• Develop relationships with shipyard personnel to mitigate delays.
• Lead detailed build plan reviews and align with construction schedules.
• Ensure compliance with Electric Boat processes and the TPQ program.
• Lead by Electric Boat Core Values and ensure the team embodies them.
