Job summary

albanyjobs seeks an Engineering Specialist focused on weaving processes to lead advanced composites projects at its DFW facility. You will plan and oversee technical execution for 3D Jacquard weaving, 2D weaving, and contour weaving across internal and customer-funded initiatives.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with 10+ years in composites manufacturing, plus hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in composites manufacturing.
• Technical leadership in a textile-based high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes and textile-based equipment.
• Expertise as a design/manufacturing lead for textiles and composites.
• Lean tools knowledge (5S, Visual Factory, value stream mapping) preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel for work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel preforming processes using textile-based methods (weaving, tufting, braiding, fiber placement).
• Lead the design, verification and validation of new products and methods including fabrication and testing.
• Establish relationships with customer technical staff and represent AEC’s technical position.
• Provide technical leadership on POC activities and perform risk assessments with roadmaps.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Create process window maps and shop-floor work instructions.
• Monitor industry to identify new techniques of interest to AEC.
• Provide engineering updates to internal/external customers.
• Mentor and lead the engineering team on expertise areas.
• Support technology road-mapping activities.
