Job summary

Albany International Corp. in Grapevine, Texas, seeks an Engineering Specialist focused on weaving processes to lead technical projects developing and maturing fiber-reinforcement technologies for composites. You will guide design, testing, and implementation across 3D Jacquard weaving, 2D weaving, and special processes.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with manufacturing, and drive risk assessments, process windows, and roadmaps while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; aerospace/composites/mechanical preferred; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in composites manufacturing and technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of textile-based manufacturing equipment.
• Experience as design/manufacturing lead for textiles and composites.
• Lean tools knowledge; Six Sigma a plus.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel for work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel preforming processes using textile-based methods (weaving, braiding, etc.).
• Lead the design, verification and validation of new products and methods.
• Establish relationships with Customer's technical staff and represent AEC's position.
• Technical lead on proof-of-concept activities with risk assessments and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve existing processes.
• Create process limits and write effective work instructions for shop floor.
• Monitor industry for new techniques of interest to AEC.
• Provide project updates and mentoring to the engineering organization.
