Job summary

Albany International Corp. is seeking an Engineering Specialist focused on weaving processes at the DFW facility.

You will plan, organize, and oversee technical execution of internal and customer projects to mature weaving technologies for aerospace fiber reinforcements, including 3D Jacquard weaving, 2D weaving, and contour/steered braiding processes. The role requires a strong technical leader with a BS in Engineering and 10+ years in composites manufacturing, plus hands-on expertise in

Qualifications

BS in Engineering; aerospace/composites/mechanical preferred; advanced degree welcome.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in composites manufacturing.
Technical leadership in a textile-based high-volume manufacturing environment.
Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes and textile-based equipment.
Design/manufacturing lead for textiles and composites.
Six Sigma preferred; not required.
Lean tools: 5S, Visual Factory, value stream mapping.
Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel for work instructions.
Knowledge of composite materials mechanical behavior and tests.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead design, verification, and validation of new textiles products and methods.
Lead proof-of-concept activities and assess risks with roadmaps.
Collaborate with manufacturing to identify process improvements.
Create process window maps and shop-floor work instructions.
Monitor industry for new weaving techniques and processes.
Provide project updates to internal and external customers.
Mentor and lead engineering teams; support process improvements.
Support technology road-mapping activities.
