Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a 2nd shift Maintenance Engineer to provide 2nd level mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting for production equipment. You’ll support continuous improvement, MTBF targets, and cost reductions while coordinating with operators and maintenance teams across plant operations.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree (Mechatronics or similar) and 3+ years in manufacturing, with experience in PLC/HMI, 3-phase systems, and VFD/Servo

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree preferred (Mechatronics or similar).

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd level mechanical, electrical, & controls troubleshooting support for all equipment in assigned area.
• Support continuous improvement in cost reduction, equipment improvement and MTBF.
• Manage equipment performance improvement projects including safety and R&M costs.
• Collaborate with operators, team leaders, and maintenance to implement improvements.
