Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks an engineering professional to review and guide projects at our Miami smelter and rod plant, 90 miles east of Phoenix. You will manage small-to-medium site construction initiatives, assess vendor contracts, and contribute to budgeting and capital funding decisions.

The role emphasizes safety, hazard awareness, and clear written and verbal communication as you collaborate with cross-functional teams in a 24/7 operation environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 7 years engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 3 years engineering experience
• Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
• Serve as Project Manager or Technical Advisor on small-to-medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.
• Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
• Collaborate in site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
• Assist in the development and evaluation of Appropriation Request (AR) for capital funding.
• Perform other duties as required.
