Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking an Engineering Representative Step 1 to support customer projects and learn through a structured training program. You will handle calls and emails, gather project details, and use company systems to initiate and complete standard design work for electric, gas, and lighting services.

The role emphasizes customer satisfaction, collaboration with other departments, and training of new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school algebra or above with a grade of C or better.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• D.C. and A.C. electricity course or equivalent with grade C or better from an accredited institution.
• 1 year experience working with electricity may be considered in lieu of the DC/AC course.
• Transcript may be requested if selected.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Engineering Representative Training Program, including three gas and electric classroom modules.
• Advise customers on proper electric, gas, and lighting policies.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls and emails to gather details for customer projects.
• Use training and company systems to initiate, engineer, and complete standard design customer requests.
• Assist with initiation of non-standard customer projects by asking questions and entering clear notes for other departments.
• Participate in quality monitoring and coaching to ensure customer interactions meet company standards.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues across departments.
• Support team members by assisting with workload and help train new employees.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Algebra or higher with grade C or better

D.C. and A.C. electricity course or equivalent

1 year experience working with electricity (may substitute course)
