Job summary

Leviton in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, seeks a Manager of Engineering to lead fiber cable product design and development, while managing Development Engineering and Quality Assurance teams. The role blends leadership, engineering mindset, business acumen, and a passion for quality.

You will oversee cross-functional engineering activities, drive lifecycle project delivery, and advance ISO quality initiatives while mentoring engineers to ensure on-time, cost-effective results with a strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with mechanical focus; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical design engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering experience.
• Previous management experience required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and with regulatory compliance.
• ASQ CQE and/or CRE a plus.
• Six Sigma experience (Green or Black Belt) preferred.
• Strong experience with vendor and supply chain partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead Development Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to meet objectives.
• Provide leadership to foster a culture of high performance and professional development.
• Oversee development engineering projects with vendors and internal teams.
• Develop methods to ensure timely, profitable, and to-spec projects.
• Provide engineering leadership across all product lifecycle phases.
• Participate in technical review boards to align with product, quality, cost, and manufacturing needs.
• Drive continuous improvement and quality performance metrics.
• Collaborate with operations to address non-conformances and corrective actions.
