Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a Project Manager in Port Arthur, TX to lead engineering projects from initiation through closeout. The role requires coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have up to 10 years of relevant experience, a technical engineering background, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive multi-discipline teams and critical project decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.
• Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.
• Up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
• Knowledge of project execution procedures and company standards.
• Ability to lead a team and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage promotional projects minimizing the cost to Hargrove by estimating Professional Services man hours and achieving objectives.
• Manage commercial contracts on one or more projects; ensure invoices are paid, process Change Notices, review Monthly Office Earnings Report, and keep project plan current in Vision.
• Maintain control of project performance, budget progress, schedule commitments, and quality; utilize project controls tools.
• Participate in development of major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions on assigned projects.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables with client in collaboration with stakeholders; align schedule and budget.
• Recognize and communicate scope/design changes promptly via Change Notice process and promote a positive Change Management culture.
• Lead the effort in building a productive team within Hargrove and with the client; reward outstanding contributions.
• Coordinate resource requirements with other ongoing project work and align expectations across parties.
• Plan and organize team work; communicate the plan to the team, leadership, and client; conduct weekly coordination meetings.
• Maintain timely reporting including weekly/monthly reports with a comprehensive action item list.
• Review engineering docs, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings for compliance with drawings, specs and project objectives.
• Ensure standard project work processes are followed through all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Assess performance of project team and organize a qualified and motivated project team.
• Ensure project documentation is reviewed and approved by the client.
• Provide Construction Phase Support, start-up assistance, and respond to RFIs as needed.
• Manage timeliness of client decisions and package approvals.
• Promote positive relations with the client to build long-term relationships.
• Complete project closeout as required by the client.
• Effectively manage client needs at all stages of the project.
