Job summary

Syngenta Seeds is seeking an experienced project engineering leader to manage capital projects across seed-related operations. You will oversee scope, cost, safety, and schedule, coordinating with third-party staff and contractors.

You will shape project scopes, prepare approvals, and ensure seamless integration from design through commissioning. Strong experience in manufacturing engineering and supplier management is required.

Qualifications

• BS minimum in chemical/industrial, electrical, mechanical, agricultural engineering or related fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in related roles.
• Experience in operational manufacturing sites and construction.
• Proven ability to lead internal and external project teams.
• Engineering work across a range of facility types (manufacturing, processing, lab).
• Understanding of country legal and compliance requirements.
• Ability to assess risk in engineering activities.
• Ability to set and enforce standards.
• Experience with the external supply base and contracting services.
• Experience managing engineering suppliers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects directly: set and achieve challenging success criteria.
• Collaborate with owners to shape project scope and finalize Terms of Reference.
• Define, estimate, deliver, track, and report safety, costs, and progress.
• Prepare applications for engineering capital approvals and completion reports.
• Ensure integration between commissioning, start-up, and design/construction.
• Develop understanding of engineering requirements for seed projects.

Education

BS or higher in engineering/biology

5+ years of experience

Operational manufacturing & construction experience

Leading a high-performance project team

Engineering for various facility types

Country legal & compliance awareness

Risk understanding in engineering activities
