Job summary

DelDOT's Bridge Design section seeks an Engineer Program Manager I in Dover, Delaware to supervise and manage assigned projects and programs, ensuring technical decisions are sound and implemented. You will lead professional staff, coordinate with consultants, estimate manpower needs, schedule work, and draft agreements.

The role requires oversight of engineering design, reviews of permits, and compliance with regulations, with responsibility for hiring, training and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in multiple engineering disciplines listed.
• Knowledge of staff supervision through lead work or managing teams or supervising staff.
• Experience with project planning, cost estimates and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Applies principles and theories of science and mathematics to research and develop solutions to technical problems.
• Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and investigations to collect data and ensure conformance to laws.
• Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities.
• Plans and coordinates engineering projects.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports on the status of projects and regulatory conformance.
• Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.
• Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff.
