Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Patent Agent with an engineering or technical background to draft, prosecute, and manage patent filings across biotech, life sciences, mechanical, electrical, and software domains. The role focuses on strong claim drafting and effective communication with clients and examiners.

You will support USPTO prosecution, coordinate PCT and EPO filings, conduct prior art searches, and provide FTO analyses and portfolio guidance.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical degree required (B.S./M.S./Ph.D.).
• USPTO-registered patent agent or eligible to sit for the exam.
• 2+ years in patent prosecution across multiple domains.
• Experience with PCT and EPO filings preferred.
• Strong prior art, FTO analyses, and patent landscaping experience.
• Excellent technical writing and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute US patent applications, including provisional and non-provisional filings.
• Prepare robust claims and specifications across biotech, life sciences, pharma, mechanical, electrical, and software.
• Coordinate international filings (PCT) and national phase entries; support EPO prosecution.
• Manage office actions, amendments, interviews, and examiner communications.
• Conduct prior art searches, FTO analyses, and patent analytics to guide strategy.
• Provide validity/infringement assessments and support for licensing and portfolio management.
• Maintain docketing records and file patent applications via USPTO Patent Center and related systems.
