Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Professional Engineer to lead an expanding engineering oversight function. The role involves supervising a team of engineers, guiding technical design oversight for a $250M annual capital budget, and engaging with customers on proposals and contracts.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The position supports APS’ hybrid work model and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related applied science from ABET-accredited institution or recognized equivalent.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong people management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of contract development and negotiation with track record of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering work to ensure technical soundness, cost effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
• Develop proposals that meet customer needs and balance profitability and risk.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure prudent use of company resources.
• Maintain a multi-discipline staff and provide coaching and development.
• Provide consulting and stay connected with industry trends (e.g., EPRI).
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and ensure documentation is up to date.
