Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in engineering/maintenance; HVAC‑R/electrical/plumbing training.
• Alternate: 2-year degree in Building and Construction/Engineering/Mechanics; 2 years experience in engineering/maintenance; HVAC‑R/electrical/plumbing training.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
• Supervises day-to-day operations of Engineering.
• Manages physical plant including equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life-safety systems.
• Maintains and operates equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Supervises repair work orders and grounds/facilities upkeep.
• Acts as technical liaison for all departments in the property.
• Supervises Engineering in Director's absence.
• Assists in selecting and purchasing equipment and furnishings.
• Inspects facilities to determine work type and scope.
• Manages inventories to minimize downtime and optimize cash flow.
• Assists in evaluating new technologies and energy conservation programs.

Education

High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC‑R/electrical/plumbing.

2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance; HVAC‑R/electrical/plumbing training.
