Job summary

Actalent seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support Tampa production, improve processes, and develop tools and docs for high-quality manufacturing in a defense technology environment. You will work with Production, R&D, NPI, Quality, and Supply Chain to tackle complex electro-mechanical systems such as drones and robotics.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in production or process engineering with hands-on experience in jig/fixture design, process documentation, and cross-functional collaboration,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and specifying jigs and production fixtures.
• 3+ years of experience in production or process engineering with complex electro-mechanical systems (such as drones, robotics, lasers, or electronics).
• Proven experience creating assembly work instructions and technical process documentation.
• Practical technical background with hardware components, tools, and assembly processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
• Independent, proactive, and highly structured mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, NPI, and Quality.
• Good proficiency in MS Office tools, with strong Excel skills considered an advantage.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and process improvement.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the production environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Apply a structured and proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and projects in parallel.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering solutions with production needs and quality standards.
• Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall product reliability.

Job Description

This hands-on Manufacturing Engineer position focuses on supporting production operations, improving manufacturing processes, and developing the tools and documentation needed for efficient, high-quality manufacturing in a defense technology environment. Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a production and engineering environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will collaborate closely with production, R&D, NPI, Quality, and Supply Chain teams in a hands-on setting that involves hardware, tools, and assembly processes for advanced electro-mechanical systems such as drones and robotics. The environment emphasizes continuous improvement, lean manufacturing practices, and cross-functional teamwork, offering the opportunity to work with one of the leading drone technology organizations on innovative and high-impact products.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
