Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Global Video Engineering organization to lead the development of tooling, automation, data, and intelligence capabilities across Live, Linear, and VOD video experiences.

The role focuses on building a centralized video intelligence platform, real-time visibility, advanced analytics, and AI-driven operational capabilities. You will partner with Product, Operations, Architecture, and Data Engineering to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience leading or managing software teams for complex, production-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of modern software and distributed architectures (microservices, APIs, cloud-native).
• Experience designing or operating data platforms, data lakes, or large-scale analytical systems.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion/transformation patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming, event-driven).
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms and high-volume telemetry/data stores.
• Knowledge of API architecture, RESTful services, authentication and API lifecycle management.
• Cloud platforms, containers, orchestration, and managed data services.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an inclusive, high-performing engineering organization responsible for software platforms, data services, APIs, integrations, automation, and tooling.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for a centralized video intelligence platform integrating data across systems.
• Lead engineers in designing scalable systems for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving high-volume operational data.
• Define architecture for real-time and historical data processing, including streaming pipelines and data lake technologies.
• Establish patterns for data source integration with data quality, lineage, governance, and observability.
• Develop a canonical data model enabling cross-system data correlation and reuse.
• Advance intelligence capabilities including anomaly detection, correlation, automated triage, and predictive insights.
• Enable safe use of ML/AI against operational video data and integration with existing platforms.
• Collaborate with Product/Operations to translate requirements into scalable roadmaps.
• Work with multiple teams to improve interoperability, resilience, and performance.
