Job summary

SSI Technologies, LLC, located in Janesville, WI, is seeking an Engineering Manager (Product Development) to lead the design, development, and launch of advanced pressure and ultrasonic sensing products.

You will guide architecture, mentor a multi-discipline team, own programs from concept through validation, and ensure manufacturability, reliability, and strong customer focus across agricultural, industrial, and commercial vehicle applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7–12+ years of experience in product development engineering, preferably in sensors or harsh-environment systems.
• Experience with oil-filled piezoresistive pressure sensor design.
• Working knowledge of ceramic capacitive and thin-film sensing technologies.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering products to production.
• Experience with structured development processes (e.g., stage-gate, APQP).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of product development engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines.
• Provide technical direction on product architecture, design approaches, and engineering tradeoffs.
• Own execution of new product development programs from concept through validation and launch.
• Drive disciplined engineering practices in requirements definition, design reviews, verification, and validation.
• Serve as a hands-on technical resource in sensor design, packaging, and system integration.
• Oversee development of various pressure sensors and ultrasonic sensing systems.
• Guide critical architecture decisions including sensing element selection and electronics integration.
• Ensure robust designs for harsh environments involving vibration, temperature extremes, and chemical exposure.
• Drive design for manufacturability, assembly robustness, and scalable production.
• Collaborate with customers, QA, sourcing, and global teams to ensure alignment with application demands.
