Job summary

BJAK is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for building and scaling product platforms used by millions across the region. You will shepherd engineering efforts from idea to production, ensuring quality and reliability while maintaining a strong delivery pace.

You will work across frontend, backend, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure, driving architectural decisions and coaching engineers to grow.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems.
• Experience leading software engineers and owning delivery of engineering work.
• Deep technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Able to make architecture trade-offs balancing speed, scalability and maintainability.
• Proven track record of shipping products from idea to production.
• Ability to review designs and debug complex production issues.
• Strong people leadership with coaching and performance management.
• Excellent product sense and ability to connect engineering decisions to outcomes.
• Able to work with ambiguity and drive teams toward clear outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers across frontend, backend and full stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, ensuring rapid delivery with reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical execution.
• Drive technical architecture and engineering decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer-facing systems.
• Set standards around code quality, system design, testing, observability, security and production reliability.
• Stay close to the technical work through architecture reviews, code reviews and debugging.
• Develop engineers through regular feedback, coaching and performance management.
• Identify performance gaps early and raise the team's engineering bar.
