Job summary

BJAK is hiring a backend engineer to build the AI Neobank app’s backend services, APIs, and workflows. You will support products across insurance, payments, wallets and other financial services, collaborating with product and mobile teams to ship customer journeys quickly.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in backend engineering, strong API and system-design fundamentals, and experience with scalable services and third‑party integrations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third‑party systems.
• Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality and edge cases.
• Ability to balance speed, quality and risk.
• Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams.
• Experience in fintech or regulated financial domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services.
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations.
• Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and other partners.
• Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance.
• Build systems that are practical, auditable and ready for regulated financial products.
