Job summary

nTop is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the team responsible for workload orchestration—the infrastructure that enables customers to define, launch, monitor, and collect results from large-scale distributed computation jobs.

You will hire and coach senior engineers, own the technical execution, and drive architecture for headless execution across environments from on-prem to cloud Kubernetes clusters.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership experience.
• Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience shipping into customer-managed environments (on-prem, hybrid, or air-gapped).
• Proven track record of building and leading engineering teams.
• Strong collaboration with PMs, designers, and field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a small, senior engineering team focused on workload orchestration and distributed workloads.
• Define the architecture for headless execution and workload orchestration across workstations, HPC, and cloud.
• Write production code and review PRs in year one; set architectural direction with the team.
• Lead integrations with third-party tools and cloud services; deliver a headless pipeline for job definition, submission, monitoring, and results collection.
• Partner with Product to translate strategy into engineering plans; assess feasibility and risk.
• Deliver systems that operate in IT governance, export control, and ITAR-like environments with customers in defense/aerospace.
