Job summary

nTop is seeking an Engineering Manager to build and lead the team responsible for workload orchestration—the infrastructure that lets customers define, launch, monitor, and collect results from large-scale distributed computation jobs.

The role combines hands-on coding in year one with strategic architecture, cross-functional partnerships with product, and close collaboration with customers in aerospace and defense, ensuring systems run securely from on-prem to cloud.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, incl. 3+ years leading engineering teams
• Experience shipping distributed systems or infrastructure software
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience shipping into customer-managed environments — on-prem, hybrid, or air-gapped
• Strong collaboration with PMs, designers, and field engineers; focus on customer value

Responsibilities

• Build and hire a small, senior engineering team
• Own the architecture for headless execution and workload orchestration
• Write production code in year one; review PRs and shape architecture
• Lead integrations with HEEDS, ModelCenter, PhysicsX Flux, and cloud services
• Partner with Product to translate strategy into engineering plans
• Deliver for defense contractors, aerospace OEMs, and industrial manufacturers
