Job summary

Stripe’s Sandboxes organization leads the engineering, testing capabilities, and platform tooling that empower developers to build and validate integrations safely and efficiently. Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering management leading teams of 5+ engineers shipping products at scale.
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
• Experience building reusable, extensible software with strong user empathy and commitment to high-quality UX.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to turn ambiguous goals into clear priorities.
• Track record of delivering multiple high-impact workstreams and value.
• Experience building a supportive environment with candid feedback and high expectations.
• Technical depth to guide architecture and product design discussions.
• Experience taking ownership of initiatives and driving them forward.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering planning and execution, partnering with Design to build clear, useful testing experiences.
• Shape the team’s strategy and roadmap, aligning partners across Product, Design, Infrastructure, Marketing, and Operations.
• Own delivery from problem definition through rollout and ongoing operation, improving system performance and user experience.
• Uphold high engineering standards across the team’s codebases and development practices.
• Partner with Recruiting to hire engineers and build a diverse, high-performing team.
• Coach and mentor engineers, provide candid feedback, and support career development tailored to goals.
