Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Review Tooling team within Safeguards. You will own and scale tools used by investigators and Claude-enabled workflows, partnering with policy, operations, data science, and legal to ensure safe, trustworthy enforcement across platforms.

The role emphasizes building a platform with analytics, privacy-preserving data access, and a sandbox for rapid iteration of new interfaces. You will mentor engineers and drive an inclusive hiring culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and developing engineers.
• Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering with architectural discussion experience.
• Experience shipping internal tools or platforms for demanding operational users and improving workflows.
• Experience working cross-functionally with non-engineering partners such as operations, policy, or legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling for both first-party and third-party platform surfaces.
• Define the vision and roadmap for our review tooling platform, including analytics and privacy-friendly data access primitives.
• Drive the team's strategy for scaling review through automation, including Claude-assisted and Claude-driven workflows.
• Partner with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science stakeholders to translate enforcement needs into reliable systems.
• Ensure review tooling evolves with new privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
• Create clarity for the team and stakeholders in a fast-changing environment.
• Take an inclusive, equitable approach to hiring and coaching top technical talent.
• Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Anthropic's engineering management community.
