Job summary

Anthropic is seeking engineers for the Review Tooling team within the Safeguards group. You will own the tools used by safety investigators to understand platform activity and enforce actions, and contribute to the platform beneath those tools.

Qualifications

• Technical background in full-stack or platform engineering with design discussions
• Experience shipping internal tools or platforms for demanding operational users
• Experience working cross-functionally with non-engineering teams (operations, policy, legal)
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs
• Care about the societal impacts of AI and want safer systems

Responsibilities

• Build investigation, review, and enforcement tooling for first- and third-party surfaces including queues and audit logging
• Develop reusable APIs, data storage, and backend services for new review workflows
• Deploy tooling across multiple clouds with consistent pipelines and observability
• Scale review through automation and Claude-enabled workflows
• Partner with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science to reduce handling time and errors
• Instrument tools with metrics on queue health, throughput, and decision quality
