Coinbase is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Market Data & Analytics team within Institutional. You will lead a high-performing team delivering real-time market data, index pricing, and analytics for trading systems.

Drive strategy, mentorship, and execution with a focus on low latency, accuracy, and reliability. You will partner with Product, Design, and other engineering groups to plan, sequence, and ship features that expand Coinbase's market data capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering real-time data or financial infrastructure systems.
• Deep fluency in systems design, streaming/data pipelines, and backend languages.
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining senior engineers.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear engineering plans with milestones.
• Utilizes AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for market data and analytics domain, aligning priorities with Institutional goals and driving execution from planning through delivery.
• Lead and grow a team of 5-10 engineers through hands-on coaching and career development.
• Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to scope, sequence, and ship features.
• Drive data accuracy, reliability, and performance for index pricing and data feeds at scale.
• Shape engineering culture and hiring, maintaining high standards for code quality and operational rigor.
