Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Market Data & Analytics team within the Institutional product group. You will lead a team building and scaling real-time market data and analytics infrastructure powering trading systems, with emphasis on index pricing, data ingestion, and latency-sensitive services.

You will drive the technical roadmap, hire and mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, accurate data at scale for

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering people leadership.
• Proven track record delivering real-time data, market data, or financial infrastructure systems with high throughput and low latency.
• Deep fluency in systems design, streaming/data pipelines, and at least one backend language (Java/Kotlin/Go/C++) to guide architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for market data and analytics, aligning with Institutional product goals.
• Lead and grow a team of 5-10 engineers through coaching, career development, and high technical standards.
• Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to scope, sequence, and ship features for market data capabilities.
• Drive data accuracy, reliability, and performance to meet strict correctness, latency, and uptime requirements.
• Shape engineering culture and hiring, building a talent pipeline and enforcing code quality and operational rigor.
