Job summary

Compri Consulting seeks an Engineering Manager to join our client’s team in Phoenix/Laveen, AZ. This is a full-time, 100% onsite role focusing on precast/pre-stressed concrete design and leadership of engineering, drafting, project managers, and quality control teams.

The position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 8+ years in precast prestressed concrete design with 5+ years of related management experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE License is required.
• 8+ years of precast prestressed concrete design experience.
• 5+ years of related management experience in the precast industry.
• Familiarity with IBC and references such as ACI, ASCE, PCI.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and drafting staff including project management.
• Plan and organize department to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Oversee Quality Control Department and Supervisors.
• Monitor and maintain job budgets and departmental budget.
• Maintain drafting and design standards per codes and best practices.
• Negotiate contracts with outside drafting/design consultants.
• Provide design assistance to sales and estimate costs for drafting/design scope.
• Ensure training for new or existing engineers and staff.
• Collaborate with production and erection for efficient design/detailing.

Job description

Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in Phoenix/Laveen, AZ.

This is a full-time, direct hire role that is 100% onsite.

Candidates must have precast/pre-stressed concrete experience.

This position will be managing engineering, drafting, project managers, and Quality Control.

Core Responsibilities

• Overall management of engineering and drafting staff including project management.
• Planning and organizing department to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Oversee the Quality Control Department and Quality Control Supervisors.
• Monitor and maintain job budgets and overall departmental budget.
• Maintains and implements drafting and design standards based on current codes as well as best practices
• Negotiates and executes contracts with outside drafting and design consultants for which work is not performed in-house.
• Provides design assistance to sales when needed and provides estimating costs for Drafting and Design scope on upcoming projects.
• Responsible for ensuring new engineers and/or existing staff get training needed.
• Works closely with other departments such as production and erection to ensure design and detailing of product is most efficient

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• PE License is required
• 8+ years of precast prestressed concrete design experience
• 5+ years of related management experience in the precast industry
• Must be well versed in building codes such as IBC, and reference standards such as ACI, ASCE, and PCI
• Must be well versed in many engineering software programs, as well as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), etc.
