Job summary

Vanta is hiring an Engineering Manager for the App Primitives team. You will lead a high-impact group that builds shared infrastructure powering all Vanta products. You will shape strategy, mentor senior engineers, and partner with product leaders to remove friction and accelerate delivery.

As a senior leader, you will align multi-team efforts, manage dependencies, and drive architecture decisions across data, backend, and UI primitives. A strong track record in platform teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading platform, shared services, or product infrastructure teams.
• Technical fluency across the full stack and API design.
• Strong collaboration with product, design, and engineering leaders.
• Track record of hiring senior engineers in a competitive market.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the App Primitives team, owning hiring, team health, delivery, and development of senior engineers and technical leads.
• Own the strategy and roadmap for shared product primitives: comments infrastructure, notifications platform, event log, feature flag system, and task management.
• Define interface models between App Primitives systems and product teams to enable rapid, safe development.
• Partner with product engineering leaders to surface needs and prioritize investments.
• Set technical direction for a full-stack team across data models, backend services, and UI primitives.
