Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking an Senior Engineering Manager for Observability to lead a high-velocity, customer-focused team across distributed platforms. You will guide architecture, mentor senior engineers, and own the end-to-end operability of a scalable observability stack used by developers and platforms.

The role is hybrid with available locations including Austin, NY, Lisbon and London, and requires 8+ years in the industry with at least 4 years in people management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 4 years managing software engineering teams.
• Proven track record leading teams that shipped and operated large-scale, data-driven systems.
• Strong depth guiding architectural discussions and making credible technical decisions.
• Experience in observability, developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, edge/proxy systems, or high-scale APIs.
• Hands-on leader who stays close to code, numbers, customers, and what to build next.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical and product vision with your PM and Engineers.
• Build the observability platform for the current AI driven ecosystem.
• Own SLOs, incident response, customer escalations, and technical debt.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow senior engineers; raise the bar.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with platform and product teams to surface meaningful data.
