Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking an Engineering Manager for New Product Development/R&D to lead a team of Mechanical Design Engineers. The role focuses on driving projects from concept through launch, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with customer needs.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design expertise, leadership in fast-paced manufacturing, and a track record of successful NPD programs from concept to commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
• 7+ years mechanical design or product development experience, 3+ years in leadership.
• Proven experience leading NPD programs from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Design Engineers for New Product Development.
• Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept to production launch.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, product management, and operations to define requirements and translate them into engineered solutions.
• Oversee mechanical design activities including SolidWorks modeling, design reviews, prototyping, testing, and release to production.
• Lead cross-functional teams through milestones, risk assessments, and project deliverables.
• Ensure products meet performance, regulatory, reliability, cost, and manufacturability targets.
• Drive DFM, DFA, and Design for Cost initiatives throughout development.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification activities.
